    MSH is seeking candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded malaria control project in the DRC. The purpose of the USAID/DRC President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Expansion Project is to increase coverage and use of key life‐saving malaria interventions in support of the DRC’s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP). This project will complement the existing USAID/DRC Integrated Health Project (IHP) and other donor‐supported malaria programs. This position is contingent upon project award.

    OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Party (COP), and working closely with the project technical team, the Clinical Case Management Specialist (CCM) will be responsible for scaling‐up the use of microscopy and RDT malaria in health facilities and improving the management of severe malaria as well as uncomplicated malaria.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
    S/he will ensure that laboratory diagnostic services are strengthened through training,
    mentoring and monitoring of laboratory and clinical staff, enhancing quality assurance systems, and guiding policy and implementation strategies. S/he will support training on the management of malaria, particularly severe malaria, LLIN provision and IPTp delivery. S/he will support on‐site supervision of healthcare workers including benchmark assessments, on the spot training on new algorithms, and coaching. S/he will support in vivo efficacy testing of antimalarials and ensure implementation of pharmacovigilance. S/he will represent the project on case management related activities and respond to any specific requirements from the COP.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Master’s degree in health or a related advanced degree relevant to the field of malaria or epidemiology.
    2. Minimum of five years of experience in different aspects of malaria prevention and control programs.
    3. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    4. Possess advanced language proficiency level (LPL) of 4/4 English and French communication (oral and written) skills.
    5. Willingness to locate in Kinshasa and to travel within DRC required.
