Does meditation relax you?

    I have tried meditation several times as a way to relieve stress. I must say the very few times I attempted, it seemed to really help. My question for those of you that practice meditation, how do you keep your mind from wondering or from falling asleep? I want to learn more about meditation and how to become better at it.

    I meditate and I feel stuff all the time, it's very common. When people die, they die. They do not return to Earth. Therefore there are no ghosts. You feel relaxed when you are meditating and so suddenly if you loose contact, stuff like that can happen. You feel and hear stuff. Its very common so don't be afraid :)

    meditation is not just sitting there and do nothing (that would rather be contemplation). There are techniques which you should learn (yoga for ex.) and tools that you should learn to use, like mandalas.

    Meditation is such a good thing which provides with the inner peace and tranquility, meditation helps to reduce uncontrollable, self-deprecating, mental clutter. Thus it provides us with the great connection to our true selves and it is at this level that we can develop our true potential. During meditation you become more alert and focused, less reactive and more responsive. When you start to feel your ability to let thoughts and emotions come and go freely, in your realm of consciousness, then you are just beginning to reach an incredible world.

    Take your time and relax, concentrate and have your mind focused on healing yourself. You need to gather your inner peace, your inner energies and your inner mental focus all in one place. Meditation is all about thinking, controlling your mind body control. It should work, try it better next time Audery90.

    Meditation is surely a technique but its not important to learn it from an outside source. Once you start practicing meditation you gradually get commands from within about the next step or what is a correct technique.

    Yes,Meditation is the only way to relax my body and mind.I did meditation daily in early morning.This is good stress reliever activity.

    Yoga and meditation are good for health. I really appreciate the post. A few months ago I was diagnosed with insomnia. I tried various methods but nothing helped than finally I started doing mediation half hour a day. It worked.
