Yesterday I spoke with the brilliant Richard Kohl for scaling up advice.  He mentioned a number of key factors:

1) Accountability (in terms of getting bednets to people who need them)

2) Transparency in terms of demonstrating how we use funds

3) Careful post-distribution follow-up

4) Making sure that all people in the process have incentives that line up with what we’re aiming for

5) Limiting bureaucracy

6) Building relationships with local communities and making sure we’re educated about their culture and community

7) Documenting our work each step of the way

This is the short version — I have 8 full pages of notes.  All in all, it was extraordinarily helpful and there’s a lot for us to think about.
